Ladies, should you ever come across a man staring blankly at the shelves of the “feminine” section of your local market, don’t be alarmed.

For he is not some voyeuristic creep out for kicks. He is, most likely, a frightened, scared, lonely significant other sent to the store on a mission where the likelihood of success is low and he knows it.

That strange look on his face is one of confusion and self-doubt, for every single box basically looks like the next and we can’t tell the difference between a maxi with wings and a taxi with wings and those don’t even exist yet.

Don’t fear him, reach out to him and help him…

This has been a “now they will/now they won’t” rumor for a long time now. It’s almost as bad as whether or not Brett Favre will play again this season.

Don’t get me wrong, I still have my #4 Favre Packers jersey up in the closet. I just wish they (Brett and Steve) would get on with it one way or the other. I’m hoping to have my Droid X by then and I may not care in the first place…

The Truth Shall Set You Free

I’ve come to a couple of life-changing realizations, now that I’m home with the kids full-time right now.

Absolute Truth #1 – They absolutely have to learn things the hard way.

That’s why our three-year old had to throw a toy gun at our five-year old, leaving a laceration that required two stitches. I KNOW we had told them all some version of “Don’t throw your toys or someone will get hurt.” Which leads to Truth # 2:

Absolute Truth #2 – Parenting is French for “You will have to repeat the same things over and over and over like you are talking to a box of doorknobs” and it still won’t do any good because of Absolute Truth #1.

Most days I feel like a broken record in a scene in the movie Groundhog Day. It’s a good thing all five of them are cute, but I do understand why some animal species eat their young.

Absolute Truth # 2.5 – I was probably the same way…
